CNJ Festival, 10/07

October 7th, 2007 (07:24 pm)

We went to the CNJ festival at Liberty State Park today, then
cycled around the park.

A
lice agreed to let me ride separately, so I was able to explore.
I went north past the CNJ terminal, then along the Morris
Canal
Basin, now home to three very pricy marinas. That got me to the
Liberty Park
station on the Hudson-Bergen Light Rail. I looped
through the parking lots there ($3 for 24 hours at all times), then
back into the park. I passed the car, then Alice, and continued to
the south end of the walk along the harbor. At the far end, I got
nice views of the Statue, with the sun lighting up the torch, and
then noticed the Queen Mary 2 behind it across the harbor at the new
cruise ship terminal in Brooklyn. I returned to the car, looping
around to reach 10.75 miles for the day and 960 for the year.
